How it works
From the denial letter to the check
Six steps, and you know which one you are on.
- 01
Step 1: Send the letter and the policy
Online, by email or at any office. If you can’t find the policy, we request a certified copy from the insurer.
- 02
Step 2: A lawyer reads all of it
Within a few business days, a partner reads the whole policy, the letter and the estimate, and calls you with what we see.
- 03
Step 3: We sign a fee agreement
A contingency fee, in writing, with the costs spelled out. Nothing to pay up front.
- 04
Step 4: We build the proof
Our own engineer or investigator, a contractor's estimate, your photos and receipts, in one file the insurer has to answer.
- 05
Step 5: We demand payment
A written demand to the insurer with the proof attached. Many claims settle here, or in appraisal.
- 06
Step 6: We file suit if we must
If the insurer still won’t pay, we take the claim, and any bad-faith claim, to court.
While you wait
Keep the house dry while we argue
The policy expects you to stop further damage, and the insurer will look for anything you didn't do. Tarp the roof, run fans, pull wet drywall, and keep every receipt. Those costs are usually part of the claim.
Photograph before you clean up
Save damaged materials when you can
Keep receipts for tarps, fans, hotels and meals
Write down every call with the insurer

What clients ask about the process
When will this be over?
Some settle within weeks of our demand. A suit can take a year or more. We give you an honest estimate after the first review and update it as things change.
Will my claim end up in a courtroom?
Most claims resolve without a trial. If yours goes to court, your lawyer will prepare you and be with you every time.
What is appraisal?
Many policies let either side ask for appraisal, where each side names an appraiser to settle the amount of the loss. It can be faster than a suit, and we tell you when it fits.
Step one is a letter
Send the letter and the policy. A partner reads them and calls you.
